GENERAL EXTERIOR

  • Mow, edge and fertilize lawn, trim hedges, weed and prune trees
  • Keep garage door closed and driveway clean and free of parked cars
  • Repair or replace loose or damaged roof tiles/shingles
  • Minimize cracks on walkways, walls and steps
  • Waste cans and sports equipment all add to a cluttered appearance
  • Make sure from the street, your property appears clear
  • Inspect window coverings from street
  • Repair any cracks, peeling paint or loose caulking on windows and walls
  • Take steps to eliminate insect or rodent pests
  • Pick up after your pets or neighborhood animals
  • Store tools and other equipment neatly in the garage

 DOORWAY

  • Apply a fresh coat of paint to the front door and frame/power wash
  • Consider adding pots of flowering plants/mulch in the entryway
  • eliminate cobwebs and clean doorway windows, porch light or decorative glass
  • Add a doormat at the entrance if you do not have one already

INTERIOR APPEAL

  • Make sure your home is clean and free of cobwebs
  • Minimize family pictures, let them see it as their home
  • Remove piles of papers and magazines from tables
  • Clean Fireplace if applicable
  • Open drapes and turn on all lights, make sure to turn blinds up to the sky
  • Clear extra gadgets from all kitchen countertops

  • Repair cracks, holes or damage to painted walls, wallpaper and tiles
  • Bright rooms look bigger and neutral colors appeal to buyers
  • Add fresh flowers, candles, fill candy dishes and make sure to get rid of any pet odors
  • Make all beds, put clothes away, maintain clean bathrooms, and put away toilet brush
  • Wash all windows inside and out as well as screens and tracks
  • Remove and/or hide excess extensions cords and exposed wires
